The Sydney Jewish Museum redevelopment will transform the existing Darlinghurst site into an expanded cultural and educational precinct, strengthening its role as Australia’s leading Holocaust education museum. The project introduces new exhibition galleries, education facilities and public spaces designed to support deeper engagement, learning and reflection while promoting understanding, empathy and tolerance.

Climax Air Conditioning delivered the mechanical services design and construction for the redevelopment, providing advanced HVAC solutions tailored to the strict environmental control requirements of museum and exhibition environments. The systems are designed to maintain precise temperature and humidity conditions to preserve sensitive artefacts and exhibition materials while ensuring optimal comfort for visitors and staff.

  • Major Cultural Expansion – New exhibition galleries, enhanced education facilities, and a dedicated Museum for Contemporary Jewish Life
  • Precision Exhibition Environmental Control – high-efficiency filtration, controlled ventilation, and humidity management, essential for protecting artefacts and exhibition materials
  • Comprehensive HVAC Infrastructure – Integration AC units serving areas alongside central chilled water and boiler systems to support consistent environmental performance across the facility
  • Smart Building Integration – Full BMS integration enabling central monitoring and control of mechanical systems
