Climax Electrical have worked closely with the principal builder and client on the rebuilding of Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat. The award winning venue was destroyed in the 2019 Black summer bushfires. During the rebuild, the devastation that was caused during the fires posed may challenges for the venue owners and project teams. One such challenge was loss of all power from the main electrical supply that was cut during the 2019/2020 season. Climax Electrical was engaged in essential early works to ensure the resupply of power so that construction could begin.
The rebuild of the entire venue includes eight luxury accommodation cabins, stunning function venue, alfresco areas, manages residence, venue offices, guest pool and amenities. The meticulous planning has aimed to compliment and embrace the surrounding natural beauty and bush setting. Such features include the Western facing “Sun deck”, complete with low level lighting enhancing the breath taking view and beauty even after the sun has set. Lit by 170 low wattage bollard lights, the perfectly landscaped paths meander from the cabins, past the fire pit to the function centre, guest lounge and BBQ area. Bringing in the natural ambiance even at night. The function venue features floor to ceiling glass overlooking the alfresco deck and bush setting lit by the carefully selected feature lighting.
The function centre includes a commercial kitchen, where Climax Electrical worked closely with the kitchen designers to ensure all power and lighting was installed to increase functionality and practicality of the kitchen. In addition to the function centre, accommodation and working buildings there is an onsite storm and waste water management plant that also required all power and lighting. The 12 buildings are set out over the 50 acres. The power and lighting was therefore run to each building via hundreds of meters of underground cable, joined by specialised resin joins.
The rebuild of Kangaroo Valley Bush Retreat was completed in March 2022 and the project now joins our completed electrical projects across various industries including Country University Campus, Southern Youth and Family Services.
