Harrington Park Public School - Core Facilities Upgrade

Project Overview

The design and engineering for the Harrington Park Public School upgrade started in 2020. Climax site crews are excited to be hitting the Stage 1 Grindley Construction site in March 2021.  Once completed the mechanical package will include the engineering, design and installation of the HVAC systems for the 4-stage Infrastructure Upgrade.

As a result of the completed project there will be 19 new classrooms, flexible learning spaces and upgraded core facilities allowing for an additional 184 students.  The refurbishment of existing buildings and the construction of new buildings will consist of;

  • One new building with 21 flexible learning spaces
  • New hall and canteen
  • New administration and library block
  • Refurbish Block A and Block C

The Climax design and installation of the mechanical services package will include 79 Indoor units to 21 VRF Heat Pump units, 1 heat recovery unit and all assorted electrical works. The control system and occupancy sensors will add increased efficiency and reduce running costs of the units.  Helping to achieve the aim of sustainable HVAC systems while providing an environment conducive to learning, growth and development of the Students.

A unique feature of the mechanical services package that Climax will provide is installation of the student designed ‘Cooler classrooms controls’* which also includes CO2 sensors.  *Information about the Cooler Classrooms Control competition winners and details can be found on The Department of Education website.
